OUR PROCESS
The installation process for an epoxy garage floor typically involves several steps to ensure that the coating is applied correctly and provides a durable and long-lasting finish. Here is a general overview of the installation process:
1.
Surface preparation
The first step in the installation process is to prepare the garage floor surface. This includes cleaning the floor thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris, or oil stains. The surface is then mechanically prepared using a diamond grinder to remove any existing coatings, stains, or imperfections. Any cracks or damage to the concrete are then filled and levelled to create a smooth surface.
2.
Primer application
Once the surface is prepared, a primer coat is applied to the garage floor. The primer coat helps to ensure proper adhesion of the epoxy coating to the concrete surface.
3.
Epoxy application
After the primer coat has cured, the epoxy coating is applied to the garage floor surface. The epoxy is mixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and then applied using a roller or squeegee. The epoxy is then spread evenly across the entire surface of the garage floor to create a smooth and even coating.
4.
Decorative elements
Once the epoxy coating is applied, decorative elements such as flakes or metallic pigments can be added to the surface to create a unique and customized look.
5.
Topcoat application
Finally, a topcoat is applied to the epoxy coating to provide added protection and durability. The topcoat can be either a clear coat or a pigmented coat, depending on the desired finish.
The entire installation process typically takes 1-two days for epoxy one day for Polyaspartic to complete, including time for the epoxy coating to cure properly. It’s important to note that the installation process may vary depending on the specific product used and the condition of the garage floor.
